Monitor critical parameters (Temperature, Pressure, Vacuum, Level, Flow, pH, Conductivity). Maintain process stability by controlling feed rates, agitation speed, cooling/heating load, and reflux ratios. 2. DCS / PLC Monitoring Operate and monitor process from DCS/SCADA, respond to alarms, and ensure parameters remain within safe operating limits (SOL). Coordinate with DCS engineer for any deviations or interlock issues. 3. Equipment Pre-Start & Shut-Down Perform pre-startup checks: valve line-up, utility availability, lubrication, seal flushing, nitrogen purging. Execute normal, emergency, and maintenance shutdown procedures. 4. Safety & Compliance Follow PPE requirements, LOTO, Work Permit System (PTW), and safe handling of hazardous chemicals. Conduct area housekeeping and ensure zero leakage, zero spillage operations. Report unsafe acts/conditions and support HAZOP / HIRA compliance. 5. Batch Operation / Continuous Operation Management Record batch steps, charging sequence, reaction profile, reflux/cooling schedule. Maintain batch production records (BPR) and logbooks with accuracy. Ensure correct dosing of catalysts, solvents, additives as per batch sheet. 6. Field Operation Perform field patrols: check equipment health, unusual vibrations, leakage, noise, emissions. Take manual readings when instruments fail or require verification. Ensure correct line-up of pumps, valves, and manifolds. 7. Sampling & Quality Monitoring Collect process, intermediate, and final product samples as per QC protocol. Adjust parameters to achieve required specification and yield. 8. Troubleshooting Identify and respond to abnormalities: Temperature/pressure spikes Pump cavitation Reactivity deviations Column flooding Coordinate with maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation teams. 9.
